Has anyone else been thinking about the timing of the shooting at JQ's Barbershop? It happened just after 5 p.m., which is such a busy time for any local business, especially on a weekday. I can't stop thinking about how there were probably so many people around, with families getting ready for dinner or folks heading home from work. It just makes it all the more chilling that the shooter targeted Jose when there were likely witnesses nearby.
I've read about how beloved he was in the community, especially for his efforts to help those in need. It's devastating that someone who consistently gave back would have his life taken so violently. I just hope that the authorities can piece together some clues soon, especially with all the potential witnesses. Maybe someone saw something that could help. My thoughts are with Jose’s family and everyone affected. It’s clear he made a huge impact, and the community’s response shows what he meant to so many. If anyone has any theories on why someone would want to harm such a positive figure, I’d like to hear them. It just doesn’t make sense right now. Please share if you have any insights.
I’ve been thinking about the day it happened and how incredibly brave that little boy must have been. I can’t even begin to imagine the trauma he experienced, witnessing such a horrific event while just getting a haircut. It's truly awful that someone so young had to go through something like that. He's going to need a lot of support and care to process what happened, and I sincerely hope his family and the community can provide that for him. José Velez’s kindness extended even to those little ones who came into his barbershop, and it’s incredibly sad that this boy had to lose someone who was undoubtedly a positive presence in his life. Hoping justice is served soon and those affected, especially this child, can find some peace.
