I'm really saddened learning about the circumstances of Town Marshal Frye Haley's death. It must have been incredibly traumatic not only for his family and friends but for the broader community of Lebanon Junction. It’s a reminder of how dangerous the job can be, even in small towns back in 1904. I’ve been thinking about how quickly things escalated on the porch of the Sparks Hotel. Was there anything in the community dynamics at the time that might have contributed to someone stepping in like that during the arrest? Just trying to wrap my head around why someone would risk it all in such a tense situation. Would love to hear more details from anyone familiar with the history or any local stories that have been handed down. Thoughts with Marshal Haley’s family—can't imagine what they went through.
