Has anyone dove into the testimony of Laurene Gardner, the 13-year-old assistant, who said Dr. Schott was out delivering gifts on the day Elizabeth Griffith was killed? I can't shake the feeling that there might be more layers to her statement than we realize. Considering Laurene's family lived in a property owned by Schott, it's worth questioning how this relationship might have affected her testimony. At such a young age, would there have been pressure – either explicit or implicit – to protect Schott's interests? It's all too easy to be influenced by someone who holds significant power over your family's living situation. Even beyond Laurene's possible motives, just imagine being 13 and involved in something so grim. It makes me wonder if her statement reflected the truth or if she was coached to say what benefited Dr. Schott. So many twists and turns in this case make it tough to know who to trust, especially with the power dynamics at play. It's disconcerting to think the truth might have been manipulated and justice slipped away for Elizabeth and her family.
