I was reading about the tragic events of April 23, 1986, involving Jimmy Roger Keene and the other victims. What really strikes me is the senselessness of it all. Imagine just going about your day, only to become entangled in someone else's violent spiral. I've been thinking about Keene's family and friends. How do you even begin to process such a devastating and unexpected loss? It's a chilling reminder of how the ripples of a violent act can extend far beyond the immediate victims. I hope they have found some semblance of peace over the years, though I’m sure the pain of such a loss never fully goes away. This case made me reflect on the role that drugs and past criminal behavior played in pushing Foster and Powell to carry out these horrific actions. It’s scary to think about how past experiences and substance use can merge into something so destructive. A bit of a wake-up call, honestly, about how we address these issues in society. Anyone else struck by how quickly life can be turned upside down? My thoughts are with everyone still affected by this today.

Hey everyone, I've been reading about the 1986 Lexington murders, and my heart truly goes out to the families affected, especially when thinking about Jimmy Roger Keene's untimely death. Something that really stands out to me is how horrifying it must have been for the families learning about the details of what happened to their loved ones. The fact that Keene was left in a car that was set on fire is just so incomprehensibly cruel. It’s terrifying to think about that level of violence. I can’t imagine how his family and friends cope with the knowledge of what Jimmy went through. With perpetrators like Foster and Powell having such a dark background with drugs and crime, it really makes you question how nothing was done to stop them before their rampage. For those who knew Jimmy or any of the victims, it must be so hard to have any sense of closure. I hope they’ve been able to find some peace over the years. If anyone has any insights into how the local community in Lexington has dealt with the aftermath of these horrific crimes, I'd be really interested to hear more. Stay safe out there, everyone. Hug your loved ones a little tighter. -- Sam
