Hey everyone, I've been digging into the tragic events of April 23, 1986, and I can't help but feel for the family of Carlos Kearns. What really stands out to me is how Carlos' own car, which should have been a place of safety, turned into the scene of such horror. It's chilling to think about the betrayal of safety and trust these victims experienced, often at the hands of people they knew, at least peripherally. The way Carlos was found hits me hard—injured and still fighting for his life amidst so much chaos.
I imagine his wife must have felt an unimaginable mix of emotions, knowing her vehicle was involved—a mundane part of everyday life turned into a witness and a token of one of the worst days imaginable. It's sobering to think about how lives can intersect in such unexpected and violent ways, and serves as a stark reminder of the devastating impacts of drugs and alcohol on the human spirit. Would love to hear others' thoughts on how these intersections of lives and objects play out in true crime cases.
