I've been following the tragic story of Amy Ndao, and I can’t help but think about the systemic failures that contributed to this heartbreaking scenario. It’s incredibly distressing to know that Amy did everything she could within the system to protect herself, like filing for a domestic violence order. Yet, it was never served. How many others are caught in this horrifying cycle where legal protections are sought, but bureaucracy gets in the way? The fact that Antoine Bosley had shot at her before, and nothing substantial came from it, casts such a dark shadow on the duty to protect victims. It's chilling to think that this woman had foreseen the danger and sought help, but the system failed her. My thoughts and empathetic vibes go out deeply to her friends and family; they must feel so let down. It would be great to hear thoughts or experiences about similar cases where the protective measures didn’t work as planned. Perhaps we can raise awareness and push for change in how these cases are handled in the future.
