Has anyone else been looking into the life of Brad Hettinger before this tragedy? I recently read some reports suggesting that he struggled with PTSD after serving in Iraq. It's truly unfortunate to think of the turmoil he must have been experiencing leading up to that horrible day. It's such a sad story all around. I know there weren’t any prior signs of violence mentioned, but it makes me wonder if there were any subtle cries for help that friends or family might have missed. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this. It’s a somber reminder of the importance of mental health resources, especially for veterans. I just hope that other families who might be dealing with similar struggles can find the support they need before things take such a tragic turn.
Hi everyone,
I've been mulling over something about this case involving the Hettinger family and I just can't get it out of my mind. It’s incredibly difficult to think about what those kids, Collin and Courtney, might have experienced. They must have been terrified, and it just breaks my heart. I can't imagine what those little ones went through in their last moments.
You know, the more I think about it, the more I wonder about the role PTSD played in this. Brad was a former Army captain and had served in Iraq—it's clear he was struggling, but what a tragic and irreversible outcome. I can't help but question whether more could have been done to support him and potentially prevent this tragedy. It's such a fragile line between someone needing help and ending up in such a devastating situation.
My thoughts are with the family and the community in Louisville. The memory of Collin, Courtney, and Billie Jo deserves to be cherished, and I hope they're at peace now. It's just so unfair for such innocent lives to be taken in such a brutal manner.
Please feel free to share your thoughts. It's been comforting to see such a supportive community here for times like these.
Stay safe and hold your loved ones close.
Warm regards,
