I recently came across the case of Angel Juarez, and I’ve found myself thinking a lot about the impact this kind of violence has on neighborhoods. It’s just so painful to consider how one incident can tear apart families and instill a sense of fear and loss in the entire community. I can’t imagine what it must have been like for his family and friends, having their lives turned upside down on a night that’s supposed to be about gratitude and togetherness. It makes me wonder about the long-term effects on Angel’s siblings, especially the brother who was there when it happened. That’s an immense burden to carry, knowing the violence was connected to a dispute involving another family member. I hope they have support systems in place to help them navigate the trauma and rebuild their lives as best as they can. It’s such a reminder of the long-lasting impact these tragic events have beyond the immediate victim.
