I was thinking about the role of the apartment complex's security system, or maybe the lack thereof, in the tragic case of Justin Kern’s murder. It makes me wonder if the complex had any surveillance cameras, and if so, did they capture any footage that led to the quick arrest of Murphy and the 16-year-old? With so many violent incidents happening, it really puts into perspective how crucial these systems can be in providing vital clues and evidence.
I've read elsewhere that some residents have expressed concerns about the level of security in the area. It’s comforting to know that the police were able to act swiftly, but it’s frustrating to think that enhanced security measures might have deterred this crime altogether or could deter future ones. My thoughts go out to Justin's family and friends who are dealing with immense loss and hoping for justice.
