I can't stop thinking about how the community and Ingram Scott's family must have felt in the wake of his tragic death. It's so distressing to see how the disbandment of those specialized gang units might have played a role in not just his case, but the broader increase in violence in 2012. People are often quick to blame policy changes or police strategies, but we must consider the human impact behind those statistics. It makes me wonder if keeping those units active could have prevented not only this tragedy but others like it during that year. I hope the community can eventually find peace, and that Ingram's family finds the comfort and justice they need. It's just so important for us to keep pressing for effective solutions that prioritize safety and support for residents.
