I was really struck by the role that Jennifer and Colin's kids had in the trial. It's unimaginable what those kids went through, being in the house that day and then having to relive it in court. I can't help but think about the trauma they've had to endure, and how it will affect them long-term. It's so important for the family and community to rally around them now with love and support. I hope they're getting professional help, because no child should have to bear witness to something so horrific and then have to speak about it in such a public setting. It's a stark reminder of how domestic violence isn’t just about the people directly involved—it ripples out and impacts so many lives. Sending strength to those kids and everyone making sure they heal and grow from this tragedy.
I've been following Jennifer Montgomery's case closely, and something that's really stuck with me is how her children were right there when it all happened. I can't even begin to imagine the trauma they must have experienced that day. Being in the home during such a violent incident is something that no child should ever have to go through, and it's a testament to the lasting effects of domestic violence. Hopefully, the kids are getting the support and counseling they need to process all of this and find some semblance of peace after everything they've been through. They're just as much victims in this as Jennifer was, and my heart goes out to them and their entire family.
