I've been following the Malachi Fryer case closely since it first emerged, and I can't stop thinking about how this could have been prevented. I know it's important not to assign blame when we don’t have all the details, but the issue of unsecured firearms in homes is something we need to address urgently. It's infuriating to see cases where tragedy could have been avoided if simple precautions were in place. I feel for Malachi's family and community who are dealing with such an unfathomable loss. In my own neighborhood, we're organizing a gun safety awareness event to try and prevent something like this from happening again. Has anyone else seen their communities take steps towards prevention after such incidents? It might help for more areas to share what they’re doing to address these issues, so other towns can follow suit if needed. Let's continue to push for change, if not for law, then at least within our own circles. It's the least we can do for Malachi and many others in similar tragic situations.
