I've been thinking a lot about what happened to William Scott Smallwood and the two others at Bungalow Joe's in Louisville. It's difficult to wrap my head around how a lively Friday evening could turn into such a devastating incident without any clear reason. I feel deeply for the families and friends of all the victims, who must be grappling with unanswerable questions. Smallwood's passion for golf and the Cowboys shows how much of a regular guy he was, much like so many of us. He was just out there enjoying a night out—something we all do without expecting anything like this to happen. It's haunting to consider how quickly life can change in one random moment. I really hope that with cases like this, we continue to drive conversations around community safety and mental health, and make strides to prevent such tragedies in the future. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this horrible event.
