Has anyone else been following the story of Damien J. Barnes? I stumbled across his case when reading about unsolved homicides in Chicago, and it's honestly so upsetting to see another young life lost to violence. What really stands out to me is the challenge the police face with witnesses being too afraid to speak up. I understand the fear given the gang activity in North Lawndale, but it's so frustrating that this fear prevents justice for Damien and his family. They’ve been left without closure for so many years now. I can’t imagine the pain they must feel, not only losing a loved one but also feeling like his murder has been forgotten. Does anyone know if there have been any recent updates or community initiatives trying to tackle these issues?
