I’ve been following the Smith Mills tragedy closely and something that’s been sticking with me is how Joshua Mallory found the courage to intervene that night. From what we know, he went there trying to help a friend in distress—it's a selfless act not many would consider, especially when knowing there’s a volatile situation involved. It's truly sad to think that trying to save others, particularly when he barely had time to understand what was unfolding, cost him his life. My heart goes out to all the families involved, especially the children who were inside and are now left to make sense of this. It's a stark reminder of how one person's decision can impact so many lives. I'm hoping the community can rally around them and provide the support they so desperately need right now. If anyone has more insights or resources about how the kids and families are being supported, I’d love to know. Maybe there are ways for more of us to help.
