I've been reflecting on the vibrant life of Officer John Thomas Scanlon. It's truly touching how dedicated he was to his community, having served in the Robbinsdale Police Department for over a decade. What resonates with me the most is that he was a Vietnam War veteran. Many forget how that experience could shape a person’s life and perspective on service when they return home. His commitment to public safety even after serving in the military shows the depth of his character. And as a husband and an adoptive father, I can't imagine the void his family must have felt. Those who knew him speak of his kindness and bravery, and it's clear he was a man who prioritized helping others. I hope his legacy continues to inspire those who serve and protect us each day. If anyone has more stories or memories of Officer Scanlon, please share. It’s important that we continue to remember the people behind the badge and honor their sacrifices.

Hey everyone, I've been reading through the discussions and couldn't help but think about Officer John Thomas Scanlon's family, especially his wife and adopted son, who had to face the unimaginable loss back in 1985. Losing a loved one so suddenly is incredibly tough, and I can't imagine the strength they've needed over the years to cope with his absence. It's been decades since he was taken from them, yet with every parole hearing, I’d imagine some of that pain resurfaces. I hope they have a strong support system that’s helped them through the years, reminding them of the legacy and bravery Officer Scanlon left behind. I'd be interested to know how they’re doing now, and if there’s anything the community has done or can do to continue honoring his memory. If anyone has any updates or knows of ways we can support them, please share. Take care, everyone.
