I was researching the tragic death of Officer Brian Klinefelter and couldn't help but reflect on the community's courage during such a horrific event. The fact that a local resident was brave enough to call 911, spotting Roering and Ederhoff hiding under a deck, gives me some faith in humanity. It must have been terrifying to know that these dangerous individuals were so close by, yet they still took action to help police. That kind of bravery deserves recognition too. My heart goes out to Officer Klinefelter’s family and friends; I hope they find some comfort in knowing how the community rallied together during those dark times. Even in the face of such loss, acts of kindness and bravery can shine a light. Does anyone know if that local resident was ever publicly thanked or acknowledged?
