I'm haunted by the case of Andrew Sadek, especially when I think about his role as a confidential informant. It’s troubling to see young individuals like him, caught in difficult situations, find themselves with so few options. Using college students who are trying to avoid felony charges as CIs seems fraught with risk, and in Andrew's case, it ended tragically. I'm glad to see that "Andrew's Law" was passed to help protect others in similar situations, but it feels like it came too late for him. Does anyone have thoughts on how effective this legislation might be in truly protecting others, or any insights into other similar cases where young CIs have been put at risk? I can't imagine the pain his family has undergone and am hoping for some kind of progress or closure for them.
