Was anyone else struck by the fact that the Scandies Rose went down so close to land? I mean, it's only 2.75 miles from Sutwik Island. It makes me wonder if there were any last-minute distress signals or if they were trying to navigate toward the shore. The weather was reportedly atrocious that night, but being that close to land, I can't help but think if things could've played out differently. Maybe some of you with nautical expertise can weigh in on how feasible a rescue would be in such conditions? Keeping the missing crew members in my thoughts, hoping for answers soon.
I’ve been following the case of the Scandies Rose and I'm particularly curious about the gear they were using at the time of the incident. Does anyone know if they were dealing with particularly heavy equipment or unusual loads that might have affected the stability of the vessel? I haven’t found much info in the news reports about the conditions of the deck. It’s just so perplexing how it all went down so quickly. If anyone has insights or even theories about how the equipment could have played a role, I’d love to hear them. Hoping for some kind of breakthrough soon.
