I've been following the case of Charlie Johnson's tragic death, and I can't help but think about the timing of everything. Just hours away from a milestone like graduation, and then to have your life cut short so senselessly — it's hard to comprehend. I came across a post from a fellow student at St. Thomas who talked about how Charlie was literally counting down to that moment of walking across the stage. He'd been looking forward to starting a new chapter with the degree he'd worked so hard for. Life is just so unpredictable. My heart really goes out to his family and friends, who had to face such a sharp turn from joy to grief in the blink of an eye. It’s evident from everything I’ve read that Charlie touched so many lives. I hope the community continues to rally around his family as they navigate the months ahead. May we all keep striving to address and change the culture of violence affecting so many lives like Charlie's. RIP.
