I recently came across the case of Oscar G. Bodley and it's had me reflecting a lot about the nature of justice back in those days. What's really standing out to me is the lack of information about the suspect. It's puzzling and must have been incredibly frustrating for both the investigators and Officer Bodley's family. I can only imagine how difficult it was for the authorities at that time to track down criminals with the limited technology and resources they had. No DNA, no surveillance cameras. Yet, there was a whole community who likely knew something but were probably afraid or unable to come forward. This makes me so appreciative of the advancements we have today in crime-solving, but it also makes me wonder if there were any solid leads that got overlooked simply due to the lack of resources. I hope Bodley's family eventually found some peace, despite everything. They and the community certainly deserved it.
