Hi everyone,
I've been following the Harden family case since I first came across it, and one thing that's been on my mind is the community's role in response to such a tragedy. Lancaster, Kansas, back in 1968 was a small, tightly-knit place where everyone knew each other. I've always wondered how the neighbors and friends were able to come together after such a traumatic event.
From what I've gathered, people in small towns tend to look out for each other, and I imagine they tried to provide as much support to Mildred and any remaining family as possible. I can't help but think about the kind of gatherings they might have had, perhaps organizing meals or just being there to listen and share in the grief. It's moments like these where you really see humanity come together, even in the face of such senseless loss.
Does anyone here have family ties to Lancaster or have personal stories about community support after the tragedy? It would be both heartwarming and insightful to hear how they managed, especially when news coverage was so limited back in those days.
Sending thoughts to those affected, then and now. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
