I just came across the case of Dequantay A. Bingmon, and my heart goes out to his family. There’s something so unsettling about the fact that he was simply riding his bike when this senseless act occurred. I've been thinking a lot about the bravery it takes for witnesses in these situations to come forward. It must be really daunting, knowing that the shooter fled so quickly and could be anywhere. It's got to spark fear within the community. I wonder if anyone has seen or heard anything that could help bring some closure. This kind of violence shouldn't be a norm, and those who have information should feel supported to speak up. I really hope justice is served for Dequantay and his loved ones. Sending strength to everyone affected by this tragedy.
Hey everyone,
I've been following the case of Dequantay A. Bingmon, and I just can't wrap my head around the senselessness of his murder. As I was reading about it, one thing that struck me was the time and place of the shooting. It was 8:45 p.m.—still early enough in the evening for people to be out and about, especially in summer. Kids playing, people winding down from the day—it's unsettling to think about how brazen the shooter was. It makes you wonder about the level of fear and vigilance folks in that neighborhood must feel daily, knowing something like this could happen even before nightfall.
Sending my thoughts to Dequantay's loved ones. No one should ever have to live with the pain of losing someone in such a cruel way. Let's keep discussing and bringing attention to these stories to push for change.
Stay safe, everyone.
