Thinking about Deonte's case today and can't help but feel for his family and friends who have to live with this painful loss. What's been foremost on my mind is the part about Douglas Pete claiming the shooting was accidental initially. I find this quite troubling, especially since there was no clear motive provided later on. Accidental or not, it's so hard to come to grips with the fact that lives have been forever changed. If it truly was an accident, why not come forward with more information? I just hope that Mitchell's family finds peace and that we all learn something from this to prevent future tragedies. Violence solves nothing and only leaves so many questions and heartache behind.
