I've been following the case around Jackie Jerome's tragic death, and one detail that just strikes me as so disturbing is how quickly things escalated at the Delux Inn parking lot. It's terrifying to think about how a conflict could spiral into something so violent, ultimately taking Jackie's life. I'm really hopeful that this case and Cory Bentley's conviction can shed some light on the importance of conflict de-escalation. It's heartbreaking for Jackie's son and family to endure such a loss, not knowing they would receive that dreadful call. Perhaps more awareness and preventive measures could help avoid future tragedies like this. Sending thoughts to Jackie's loved ones and hoping they find some semblance of peace.
