Does anyone here remember hearing about the efforts of the local community after Nello Hughes was murdered by the "Shotgun Stalker"? It's been on my mind lately how communities come together in times of crisis. I read somewhere that neighbors in Columbia Heights and Mount Pleasant held vigils and set up support groups to help one another cope with the fear and uncertainty during that horrific period. It's truly touching to see how people can unite in the face of such senseless violence. My heart goes out to Nello's family and friends who had to endure such a traumatic loss. Does anyone have more info or stories about how the community picked up the pieces? I think it's important to remember how strong these neighborhoods were in sticking together.
