How incredibly tragic that Sergeant Hank Daly's dedication to solving cold cases ended in such a senseless act of violence. I can't stop thinking about the irony of him working on a cold case, trying to bring justice to past victims, only to become one himself in such a brutal manner. It's heartbreaking to know that his years of service and commitment to justice were cut short due to someone else's misguided attempt to rectify their reputation with their gang. To me, this is yet another reminder of just how much we owe to those who put their lives on the line every day. My heart goes out to his family and colleagues; they lost not only a dedicated officer but also a husband, a father, and a friend. I hope that the renaming of the building serves as a constant reminder of his bravery and dedication to his community.
