It's been nearly a decade since Craig Jb Williams was taken from this world, but it feels like yesterday for his family and friends. As someone who grew up in Chicago, I can't help but think about the real human cost behind these crime stats we hear so often. Each number is a person like Craig, a life full of potential and dreams abruptly cut short. I keep thinking about the community's role in seeking justice for Craig. It's frustrating that cases like his face so many obstacles, especially when it comes to witness cooperation. I truly can't blame people who are scared, though; the fear of retaliation is all too real. Still, I believe that every little bit helps—community support, anonymous tips, anything that can push the case forward. Has anyone heard about any new initiatives or organizations focusing on this aspect of crime solving in Chicago? It might not bring Craig back, but it could help ensure others don't suffer the same fate. My heart goes out to Craig’s family and friends; I hope they get the closure they deserve someday.
