I came across the case of Jose Nunez recently, and it's been stuck in my mind ever since. He was just 23 years old when he was senselessly taken away. What really got to me is thinking about his family and friends who must have been shattered by his loss. South Lawndale is known for its struggles, and it’s so frustrating how young lives are cut short due to this cycle of violence. I read there were so many challenges in solving these kinds of crimes back in 2014, with gang involvement making it even more complicated. It must have been incredibly difficult for those who loved him to find answers or justice when there’s such a wall of silence from the community. Thinking of everyone still hurting from that loss and hoping that someday they'll find some peace. If anyone has more insights or updates, I’d appreciate hearing about it.
