I’ve been thinking about the surveillance footage in the area where Antwaun Smith was killed. Is there any word on whether any cameras might have caught something that night? With the abundance of CCTV in urban areas like Washington, DC, it seems plausible there could be some video evidence. My heart goes out to Antwaun's family who are still seeking answers. It must be incredibly frustrating for them not to have any closure after all these years. I hope someone with information finds the courage to come forward soon. What's the community’s vibe around Newton Street these days? Are people feeling more on edge since this happened?
Does anyone else find it frustrating and sad that there haven't been any arrests made in Antwaun Smith's case? It's been years, and it's tough to imagine how his family must be feeling. I keep thinking about how someone out there knows something that could help bring justice for Antwaun.
Living in the D.C. area myself, I was disturbed to learn how many people in the community are still in the dark about what happened that night on Newton Street. It's important to remind ourselves how vital it is to share any little detail that might seem insignificant—sometimes those are the pieces that could make everything fall into place for the investigators.
It's a tough situation, but I'm holding onto hope that as people talk and share information, things will eventually come to light. If there's anyone here from the neighborhood, do you remember noticing anything unusual around that time? Stay safe out there, everyone, and let's keep this conversation going in hopes of finding justice one day.
I recently came across an article about the unsolved murder of Antwaun Smith from back in September 2017. It’s been over six years, and the fact that his killer is still out there is terrifying. I hadn’t realized until recently how much gun violence can disrupt entire communities.
Does anyone here know if there have been any renewed efforts or initiatives within the Newton Street area to try to gather more witness cooperation or information? Sometimes it feels like time passes and these tragic events fade from the public’s mind, but for the families and friends left behind, it must feel like yesterday.
I really hope that someone who knows something comes forward. The $25,000 reward is a pretty significant incentive, but I know that doing the right thing should be the primary reason. Keeping the spotlight on this case could hopefully encourage anyone with information to step up.
If anyone has updates or knows of community efforts, please share. My heart goes out to Antwaun’s loved ones. Let's keep discussing and sharing his story until there's justice for him.
