I can't stop thinking about how devastating it must be for Mecca's family and friends to deal with such an unexpected and senseless loss. It’s such a terrifying thought that she was just going about her day, in a rideshare no less, when everything was taken from her in an instant. It makes me wonder about the ripple effects of gang violence on innocent lives—we often hear about it in the news, but stories like Mecca's bring it painfully close to home. I can’t help but feel outraged that someone who once served in a police department, like Ronnika Jennings, could be involved in something like this. It’s a betrayal on so many levels. My thoughts and prayers are with all who knew and loved Mecca and Sukarno. They deserved so much better than this. Let’s hope justice is served soon.
