I've been reading up on the Andres Cervantes case, and one thing that really stands out to me is how he seems to have just become another statistic in the bigger picture of Chicago's gun violence. It's heartbreaking that someone so young had their life cut short, especially in a city trying so hard to tackle these issues. I wonder how different things might have been if there were more effective community support systems in place back in 2014. Andres deserved better, and it's important we remember him not just as a victim but as a reminder of how much work is still needed to bring real change. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends who had to endure such a terrible loss.
