I’ve been closely following the case of David Celaya, and I can't stop thinking about the community's response to this senseless act of violence. It's really touching to see how many people showed up to his funeral at St. Vincent de Paul. It shows just how loved he was and the impact he had on those around him. Coming together like that means so much in the wake of such a tragedy. I’m also wondering if any community initiatives have started up since then to address the broader issue of gun violence in Phoenix. David’s death is a reminder of the work we still need to do to make sure this kind of tragedy doesn’t keep happening. If anyone knows of efforts being made or groups in the area focused on this cause, I’d love to hear more. Thinking of David's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. May they find strength in the memories they shared with him.
