Has anyone looked into the possibility of Brett trying to start over somewhere unfamiliar? I know it might seem far-fetched, but people who struggle with mental health issues can sometimes make very unpredictable decisions. With Brett's family offering a reward and still maintaining hope, there might be a chance that he's out there, trying to find peace on his own terms. I wonder if he could have traveled further along the Elizabeth River Trail, maybe hitchhiked out of state? Are there any other reports from cities nearby of someone matching his description? Just thinking out loud here, hoping we can piece together some new ideas.
