Brett Michael Akers, a 28-year-old man from Chesapeake, Virginia, was last seen on July 1, 2020, in Norfolk. He had been admitted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment after attempting suicide, but he left the hospital against medical advice. Despite being returned to the hospital by police that same day, he left again, this time disappearing for good.
