I’ve been thinking a lot about the dynamics at play during the tragic incident involving Wenceslao Lozano III. I can't help but wonder about Thomas Caudill's state of mind and behavior leading up to that horrible night. His request for Taryn Thomas to videotape him while he was suicidal is disturbing on so many levels. It raises questions about what role mental health played in this situation. It’s just so tragic that Caudill’s apparent cry for help resulted in the loss of an innocent life instead. Understanding what led to such an act might prevent similar tragedies in the future. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for Lozano's family to process this senseless loss. My thoughts are with them during this incredibly difficult time. And support for mental health awareness should be part of the conversation to prevent others from facing such unimaginable outcomes.
