Has anyone else been thinking about the role of confidential informants (CIs) in the tragic events leading to Robert Hampton III's death? I find it concerning how often CIs are placed in potentially dangerous situations. In this case, a CI was involved in a drug operation that led to a series of events culminating in a fatal encounter between Hampton and Deputy Jason Wood. It makes me wonder about the safety protocols for these informants. Are they adequately protected, and do they receive support during investigations? The use of CIs is a common practice, but it seems like such a risky position to be in. My thoughts are with Hampton's family, who must be going through an incredibly difficult time seeking justice and understanding, just as I'm sure the family of the CI involved is worried about their loved one. It seems there are many layers to consider in these cases.

I’ve been trying to piece together the events leading up to Robert Hampton III's death, and what's really gnawing at me is the role of the confidential informant in this operation. I can’t help but feel for Hampton’s family, given that this all started from an undercover drug buy. It's strange to think about how a small interaction, like the CI meeting up with Robert, could escalate to such a tragic outcome. Knowing that the informant was wearing a recording device and was in close contact with law enforcement makes you wonder about procedure during these setups. Was everything handled as safely as possible? Did the CI anticipate this?
My heart is with Hampton’s loved ones. They deserve clear answers about what transpired, and we owe it to them to keep asking questions. How does law enforcement decide to move from surveillance to action when dealing with known offenders? I hope they find some peace, and that we can learn from these events to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
