I just can’t stop thinking about the impact this must have on Clayton's sister. To be so young and to experience something so traumatic must be incredibly difficult to comprehend. I hope the family is able to surround this little girl with support and love in the years to come. It’s so important that she’s given the care and attention she needs to process and heal from this.
The fragility of childhood innocence just hits so hard in this case. We, as a community, need to have a conversation about what steps can be taken to ensure this type of tragedy doesn’t happen again. As a parent, I can't even imagine the guilt and anguish Clayton's mother must be feeling, knowing that her boyfriend's negligence resulted in such a devastating loss. It breaks my heart to think about what could have been done to protect Clayton and his sister. Please, secure your firearms and keep them away from children.
