I’ve been following the tragic case of Candelario Duran, and one aspect I find particularly disturbing is Alonso Perez’s bold escape from custody. After being arrested, he managed to break free from the North Las Vegas Police Department by breaking his handcuffs and climbing through the ceiling tiles. It’s both unbelievable and terrifying how a suspect in such serious crimes could just walk out. My heart truly goes out to the Duran family. I can’t imagine how this must have affected them knowing someone so dangerous was on the loose, even temporarily. The terror they must have felt during those days must have been unimaginable. Thankfully, Perez was recaptured, but I wonder what measures are being taken now to ensure such a mistake never happens again. What are everyone's thoughts on this? Could there have been more secure procedures in place?

Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about Candelario Duran's case lately and something that sticks out to me is the sheer audacity of Alonso Perez's escape from custody. I mean, the way he broke free was almost like an action movie—but in the worst way possible. I can't even begin to imagine how terrifying it must've been for Candelario's family, knowing the suspect had escaped and was on the loose. It's unsettling to know that someone capable of such violence could slip through the cracks, even if it was only temporarily. Thankfully, the authorities managed to recapture him quickly, but every moment he was free must've been a nightmare for all the victims' families. I can’t help but feel for Selene and the fear she expressed about Perez's potential threat to her family. It’s hard to find true peace when something like this happens. Perez being behind bars offers a sense of relief, but it doesn't erase the pain he's caused. Here's hoping that justice brings some level of comfort to everyone affected by this tragedy. Would love to hear thoughts on security measures or similar cases. How often do these kinds of escapes happen? Stay safe out there. ?

I’ve been following the case of Candelario Duran and was particularly struck by how his daughter, Selene, has handled everything with such courage. It must be incredibly difficult to navigate life without her father, particularly given the violent circumstances of his death. What stands out to me is her concern that Perez could still be a danger, even from prison. It's a chilling reminder of the impact such a tragedy can have on those left behind, not just in terms of grief but also ongoing fears for safety. I hope Selene and the rest of Duran's family find some measure of peace as time goes on. Has anyone heard more about measures taken to ensure Perez cannot harm them further?
