I’ve been thinking about the role of witnesses in Sedale's case and similar situations. It's incredibly frustrating knowing that so many people in these neighborhoods might hold key pieces of information but are too scared or distrustful to come forward. I completely understand the concern for safety—many fear retaliation or just don’t trust the system to protect them. But every time I read about cases like Sedale's, I wish there were more mechanisms to support and protect those who might have seen something. Empowering witnesses through anonymity or even providing psychological support might encourage more people to speak up. Together, these small gestures could lead to meaningful progress in seeking justice and ultimately bring some peace to families affected by such senseless violence. If anyone has heard about new initiatives that support witnesses in such cases, I'd love to hear about them.
