Has anyone else been following the case of the seven missing boaters near Quinhagak? I've been wondering about the Coast Guard's search patterns, particularly in areas with a history of similar incidents. It seems they've expanded their search to include all of Nunivak Island based on past cases. Does anyone know if there have been other disappearances in the same vicinity that might shed light on this situation? I feel like learning from previous cases could be crucial. Plus, with the current COVID situation limiting local search efforts, any insights could be really helpful in figuring out how best to support the ongoing search.
I've been following the updates on the seven missing boaters from Eek to Quinhagak. With the advancing COVID-19 situation in Quinhagak, it makes me wonder how communities are managing search efforts when resources are tight and numerous people are quarantined. It seems like such a tough balance to strike, trying to keep everyone safe while not delaying the search. Additionally, Goodnews Bay's donation of 100 gallons of gas shows incredible communal spirit during such a trying time. I’m hoping this added support will help cover more ground and bring some answers to this community. Does anyone know if there's been any recent efforts or similar situations where pandemic precautions made search operations more complicated? If so, how were they handled?
