Has anyone else been following the ripple effect Zoraida Feliciano’s tragic death had on her community? I recently learned about some of the amazing memorials that were held in her honor. It’s truly touching to see how loved she was. The residents of Humboldt Park gathered to release balloons and leave flowers at the site where she was fatally shot, a gesture that speaks volumes about her impact on those around her. I can't imagine the pain her family and friends are going through, but the community seems to be rallying around them with a lot of support. I hope this brings some comfort to her loved ones, knowing that she’s remembered so fondly by so many. It's a stark reminder of how gun violence affects not just the victims, but entire communities. Let’s keep her family and friends in our thoughts as they navigate this unimaginably difficult time.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the innocence and warmth that Zoraida must have brought into the lives of those who knew her. It breaks my heart to see yet another life taken too soon in the Humboldt Park area. It seems like the violence here has no end, and the ripple effects of these tragedies are felt in so many circles of the community. I never met Zoraida, but reading about the balloon release and the flowers left in her memory tells me just how loved she was. It’s been nearly a decade, and there are still no answers. As we share our thoughts and theories, let's not forget the incredible sense of loss her family must endure daily. Maybe one day there will be some closure for them. Has anyone else here felt a connection to her story, perhaps by attending some of the memorials or knowing someone who did?
