I came across Donald James Hubbard's case and felt compelled to write something about the location it happened at, the 5300 block of East 33rd Avenue. It's so unsettling to think that such a terrible event could unfold in a public area where people might often walk their dogs or chat with neighbors. Public spaces are supposed to be safe and communal, a shared part of our daily lives and routines.
I can't help but think of Donald and his loved ones. This must be such a difficult place for his family and friends, knowing that the area holds such painful memories. The fact that the shooting happened in a familiar neighborhood setting makes it even more impactful. It's like the community lost a bit of its innocence and feeling of safety that day.
If anyone here is local to that area or knows more about what the environment was like around 2011, I would be interested to hear your perspective. Maybe shedding some light on the setting can help piece together why this tragic event happened and keep the conversation going in hopes of finding answers. My thoughts are with Donald's family as they continue to search for justice and peace.
