Jason Landry went missing after a crash on December 13, 2020 near Luling, Texas. The Texas Attorney General’s Cold Case Unit says DNA testing by the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification has conclusively identified recently recovered skeletal remains as Jason’s. The remains were found on Sept. 8, 2026 east of Salt Flat Road between Soda Springs and Biggs Road, a little way from where his car was discovered, and officials say the bones do not provide additional insight into cause or manner of death and they have found no indication of foul play 🙏

This is a huge development after nearly six years. Authorities have notified the family and the investigation remains active, but there are no charges or court dates announced at this time , no word yet on any criminal proceedings or when more details will be released, so we’ll watch for updates as investigators continue their work. (sorry if this is blunt, didnt want to bury the lede.)

I am so glad he was found. I can't believe he was found so close to wear he disappeared. I saw a video on this not too long ago. Not the ending I was hoping for.

I know this may seem minor but why have a dead beta fish? Was it alive? Did he take it with him when traveling? Was he returning it or rehoming it? I am confused.

I’ve been following Jason Landry’s case since it happened, and something that really puzzles me is the Snapchat switch just before the crash. It’s almost like that app holds a crucial clue. Did he receive a message or snap that distracted him? Did something prompt or alert him to stop using Waze? We've all become accustomed to checking Snapchat for a quick update or message, but in this context, it feels strange. If Snapchat could somehow pinpoint the exact timing or content of what he was doing at that moment, it might shed light on his mindset or what caught his attention. With technology playing such a big role in this case, even a small digital breadcrumb could be the key. Anyone else have thoughts on why the app switch might be significant?
