It's been several years, but I still think about how Jennifer Markovsky was just trying to be there for a friend that day. It’s such a chilling reminder of how precious and unpredictable life can be. She had this strong sense of support and loyalty, like anyone who knew her quite well mentioned. It’s something I think all of us can learn from and strive to embrace in our own lives. I can't imagine the pain and loss her family continues to endure, especially her children. From what I’ve read and heard, she seemed like a warm and nurturing mother. It’s tragic they were robbed of that love so suddenly. I hope they know there are many out here who, while we don’t know them personally, are keeping them in our thoughts. This case hit me hard, and I continuously hope for healing and justice for all those affected. In our discussions about policy and prevention, I hope we never forget the real people, like Jennifer, who these tragedies impact. Sending thoughts of love and strength to her family.
