I've been following the tragic story of Steve Salazar's death and can't stop thinking about the impact on his parents. Losing a child in such a devastating way, right in front of their own home, must be unimaginable. I can't even begin to comprehend the range of emotions they're experiencing—grief, anger, and confusion all rolled into one. I've been curious about the support systems available for families going through such trauma. Does anyone know if there are local organizations in Walsenburg or nearby areas that provide counseling or support specifically for families dealing with violent crimes? It seems like they might benefit from having a community around them that understands their unique situation. Also, it's so sad to think about the young family member who was there that day. I hope the family is able to find resources to help them process this event. If anyone has information or similar experiences, your insights would be really appreciated.

Hey everyone, I’ve been following the Steve Salazar case for some time now, and one thing that keeps weighing heavily on my mind is the impact this must have had on that young family member who was present. I can't imagine the confusion and fear that child must have gone through witnessing such an awful event, let alone the aftermath of losing a family member. Being exposed to such violence at a young age is something that no child should ever experience. I hope that child is receiving the necessary psychological support and care to process and heal from all of this. I really feel for Steve’s family, especially knowing they’re dealing with not only their own grief but also making sure this young one finds a way to cope and move forward. It’s just such a tragic situation all around. If anyone has more information about how the community is rallying around this family, I’d love to hear about it. Walsenburg seems like a tight-knit place, and I’m heartened by stories of communities coming together during such difficult times. My thoughts are with the Salazar family.

Has anyone else been following the Salazar case? One aspect that really caught my attention was the involvement of a young family member who was present during the shooting. It's incredibly sad to think about the emotional impact this incident must have had on them. Witnessing such a traumatic event can have long-lasting effects on a child. I wonder what kind of support systems they have in place to help them cope with the aftermath of this tragedy. My heart goes out to Steve Salazar’s family; losing someone in such a violent way, especially in what should be the safety of a family home, is unimaginable. If anyone has more information on how the young family member is doing, I would be grateful if you could share. It's so important that victims' families, especially children, receive the love and care they need to heal.
