Hey folks, I’ve been following the Justin McKinney case and something really struck a chord with me—how did these young lives even get to such a dark place to begin with? It’s so unnerving to think about how easily things escalated to murder and robbery among a group that was apparently just looking for drugs and valuables. The idea that someone as young as Blake Dickey could confess to such a violent act is chilling. What’s even more haunting is listening to how Anna Franklin bravely made the 911 call while being seriously injured. I can’t fathom the courage it must have taken for her to keep it together in such a terrifying moment. Her quick thinking undeniably played a crucial role in bringing those responsible to justice. My heart goes out to her, as well as to Justin’s family, for the unimaginable loss and trauma they are experiencing. How do communities even start to heal from something so tragic?
