Hi everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about the sheer impact the August 31, 2018, Aurora incident has had on those involved, especially the families. It's unimaginable what Anthoni Readus' family must be going through, losing him unexpectedly and so violently. To think he came there to protect his son and ended up losing his life in such a devastating way. He must have been a loving father who wanted nothing but safety and love for his child. The bravery in his actions should never be underestimated. From other posts and discussions, it seems like many people focus on the legal outcomes or the criminal aspects, but behind all of this, there's a family mourning a father and a brother who should still be here today. I truly hope Anthoni's son is getting the support and care he needs to process something so traumatic at such a young age. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this case, and I hope the community continues to rally around the Readus family during such a difficult time. Stay safe, and hold your loved ones close. ---

Was anyone else struck by Officer Sweeney's bravery during this horrific event? Not only did he rush towards danger to protect others, but his quick reaction in the face of gunfire likely saved more lives that day. It's chilling to think about how different the outcome could have been without his intervention. While our hearts go out to the families of Anthoni Readus and Wayne Carter, let's also take a moment to appreciate the courage and dedication of our first responders. Officer Sweeney's actions remind us of the daily risks these officers face to keep us safe. Hoping for his continued recovery, both physically and emotionally.
