I've been thinking a lot about the role of Norma Evans in this case. It must have been incredibly difficult for her, losing her daughter like that and then getting caught up in the investigation. It seems like she was trying to support Mark's version of events by stating that she thought the shot came from a distance. But what really gets me is how her testimony didn't seem to make a difference to the jury. I wonder if they felt there wasn't enough to back her claim or if they thought she was too close to the situation to be objective. It’s a reminder of how hard it is for families caught in the crossfire of these tragic situations. Does anyone know if there was more to her testimony that didn’t make it into the main reports? If anyone has insights or thoughts on how this might've impacted the case, I'd love to hear them.
