I've been following Xaviyar's case closely, and like many of you, I find it incredibly frustrating that there have been no arrests or solid leads shared by the police. It's such a tragic loss for the community and especially for his family.
One thing I keep wondering about is the role of the community in these ongoing investigations. I've read about vigils and community meetings focused on youth violence, organized by advocates like Alvertis Simmons. It's heartening to see people coming together, but I also wonder if more community-led initiatives could help bring attention to the case or even encourage someone with information to step forward.
We often hear about the need for trust between law enforcement and the community. In cases like this, what are some ways you've seen communities successfully bridge that gap to aid in solving crimes? Xaviyar's family deserves answers, and I feel like we all have a part to play in making sure his story isn't just another statistic on youth gun violence. Would love to hear your thoughts and any examples you might have seen that worked.
